The Administration

Coordinating government business and driving national policy and delivery.

The primary role of the Presidency is the organisation and coordination of government business. Given its technical leadership role and its mandate in policy formulation, review and decision-making, the effectiveness of this office has a decisive impact on the performance of all other public-sector entities.

Structure of the Presidency

The Administration brings together the constitutional offices that support the Head of State and the execution of the national development agenda. Each office carries a distinct mandate while working within a coordinated whole.

  • Office of the President — the Head of State and Government.
  • Office of the Deputy President — deputises for and assists the President.
  • Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary — coordinates and supervises government programmes.
  • The Cabinet — the national executive of Cabinet Secretaries.
  • Ministries — the line agencies delivering public services.
Effective coordination at the centre of government is the engine of delivery for the whole public service.
