The Deputy President is the principal assistant to the President and deputises for the President in the execution of the President's functions. The office acts when the President is absent or temporarily incapacitated.

Role and responsibilities The Deputy President supports the President in leading government and may be assigned specific coordination responsibilities across ministries and national programmes. The office contributes to policy development, oversight of delivery, and engagement with citizens and stakeholders.
